Mike Stuart

I moved to South Lake Tahoe in October 1979 and have been here ever since.
I was first introduced to Sierra Community Church in 1997 by Dan Blackwell through the Overcomer's Outreach Ministry (O.O.). I was struggling with alcoholism at the time and Dan suggested I try O.O. to free me from the bottle and achieve total freedom through Christ Jesus. I was freed, freed indeed!
It was at SCC that I met my future wife, KathLeen. We attended church services, studies and were soon Baptized by Dan Wilvers on the same Sunday morning service. In July of 2002 we were joined with Jesus Christ as husband and wife.
I endeavor to serve others as Jesus Christ has shown us, putting others first. I do this out of gratitude for what He has selflessly done for me. I have recently served in SCC Jait Ministry for 18 years and traveled on numerous Navajo Mission Trips through Missions Door.
In my spare time I enjoy Alpine skiing, motorcycle riding and hiking.
