I was born and raised in beautiful Napa, California, where I became a follower of Jesus at the end of my senior year of high school. I had started attending church with a good friend after being opposed to Christianity for most of my early life. After finishing college at UC Davis, I started working in the technology industry in the San Francisco Bay Area, where I met my wife Kim. While we enjoyed life in San Francisco, after spending the first 15 years of our marriage in the city we put a plan together to retire early and move to the mountains to live a more simple life. We both had spent time in Lake Tahoe, and loved the beauty of the area, along with all the amazing outdoor recreation opportunities. In the summer of 2015 we packed our car with a final load of belongings and headed to South Lake Tahoe, where we had connected with Sierra Community Church. My favorite activity in Tahoe is fly fishing in the fall, although gardening in the spring is now a close second. Kim and I are both passionate about building authentic community with our church family, growing as Jesus’ disciples, and sharing God’s love with those around us.
